Plan your ride before booking

Decide who will drive before the day of your visit. A routine knee shot isn't meant to make you sleepy. Still, the leg can feel stiff or unusual afterward. You don't have to handle traffic alone.

The drive isn't the same across Scottsdale. Mountain View Road is near Shea Boulevard. It takes longer from the far north end. Check the drive before you leave home.

Choose the closer Scottsdale route

The Scottsdale office is at 9220 East Mountain View Road, Suite 210. It sits east of the Loop 101 near Shea Boulevard. From McCormick Ranch, the trip is about three miles. From Old Town, it is about eight miles.

Drivers from the Airpark or Kierland travel about six miles. Troon North is about seventeen miles away. That can mean a much longer ride after the visit. Leave enough time so you don't need to rush.

Make the first days easier at home

Set up a quiet place before the appointment. Put water, your directions, and your phone within easy reach. You won't need to search for them later. Clear loose rugs from the route to your chair.

Plan lighter activity for the first days. Don't schedule a long walk or a hard errand. Follow the instructions you receive at the clinic. Call if the knee gets hotter or more painful.

Know where you would seek urgent care if needed. Scottsdale Shea Medical Center is at 9003 East Shea Boulevard. It is close to the Mountain View Road offices. Fever with heat and swelling means you need medical help quickly.

Plan for the Scottsdale drive

Scottsdale is about 31 miles long from north to south. The trip isn't equal from every part of the city. McCormick Ranch is much closer than Troon North. Don't leave the return trip unplanned.

Busy months can also slow the drive. From January through March, large events fill roads and calendars. Leave extra time, and don't rush after the appointment. A calm ride home is easier on a sore knee.
